As indicações para o 71º Emmy Awards anual foram anunciadas na manhã de terça-feira, e “Game of Thrones” e “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” dominaram as indicações para os principais prêmios da TV.
A última temporada da épica temporada de fantasia da HBO obteve 32 indicações, mas “Game of Thrones” não é o único candidato na categoria de drama. “Pose“, da FX, “Killing Eve“, da AMC-BBC América, “Succession“, da HBO, e “This Is Us“, da NBC, também receberam um punhado de indicações.
“Thrones” quebrou os recordes este ano, marcando uma espantosa 32 nomeações – a mais alta de todas as séries em um único ano. Anteriormente, o “NYPD Blue”, que recebeu 27 indicações em 1994, manteve essa honra.
A HBO não parou por aí. Com “Chernobyl” sendo mais indicado para uma série limitada, e “Barry” conseguindo o segundo mais nome para uma comédia (atrás do “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” da Amazon Prime Video), foi um ano para se lembrar do gigante da TV a cabo. As 137 indicações da HBO foram as que mais marcaram a história do canal, superando as 117 da Netflix – que também é o maior do reinado do serviço de streaming.
Agora, quando o assunto é novidade, o Emmy também apontou para as principais categorias, que tiveram 45 indicados ‘pela primeira’ vez este ano, acima de 36 em 2018. Entre os nomes da lista A que receberam seu primeiro chamado ao Emmy: Amy Adams (“Sharp Objects”), Benicio del Toro (“Escape at Dannemora”), Hugh Grant (“A Very English Scandal”), Michael McKean (“Better Call Saul”), Mandy Moore (“This Is Us”), Kumail Nanjiani (“The Twilight Zone”), Nick Offerman (“Making It”), Chris O’Dowd (“State of the Union”), Rosamund Pike (“State of the Union”), Billy Porter (“Pose”), Stephen Root (“Barry”), Sam Rockwell (“Fosse/Verdon”), Kristin Scott Thomas (“Fleabag”), Emily Watson (“Chernobyl”) e Michelle Williams (“Fosse/Verdon”).
