It's the convergence of technologies, once again. Video platforms want to be audio platforms and now, audio platforms want to be video platforms. At least in the category of podcasts, which were born as exclusively audio programs but are now starting to feature video recordings of the episodes. This was the news announced yesterday by Spotify.
Video podcasts can be watched by both users with free and premium accounts. For now only in some programs chosen by the brand (all in English) such as: Book of Basketball 2.0, fantasy footballers, The Misfits Podcast, H3 Podcast, The Morning Toast, Higher Learning with Van Lathan & Rachel Lindsay, It is The Rooster Teeth Podcast.
The videos appear automatically when you click play and play in sync with the audio, so if the user changes applications or if the cell phone goes into lock, the audio continues normally.
