Trip FM with Bruno Paes Manso

Bruno Paes Manso is one of the greatest experts on violence and organized crime here in Brazil. Graduated in Economics from USP and in journalism from PUC, he has a master's degree and doctorate in Political Science from the University of São Paulo. He is currently carrying out post-doctoral research on homicides, institutional trust and legitimacy at USP's Violence Studies Center and is a researcher at the Journalism, Law and Freedom group, an entity linked to the School of Communication and Arts, the famous ECA, and to the Institute for Advanced Studies.

Bruno Paes Manso has just launched, alongside sociologist Camila Nunes Dias, the book A Guerra – The rise of the PCC and the world of crime in Brazil, a work by the publisher Todavia. In the conversation with Trip FM he tells how our war on drugs policy created organized crime in the country, how our prison model feeds and nationalizes these organizations and also talks about important topics such as public security and the disarmament statute.
